The creations of the Italian designer Valentino are one of the highest expressions of savoir faire couture and excellence that have made Made in Italy famous throughout the world. The history of the fashion house began in 1960 when in the heart of the Eternal City, in via condotti in Rome, Valentino inaugurated his first atelier. The synthesis of tradition and innovation is the main characteristic of Valentino fashion, which comes quickly to success: already in 1962, in fact, with the debut at Pitti Moda in Florence, the young fashion designer became one of the most appreciated and popular couturiers in the world, so much to obtain a publication on the cover from the French edition of Vogue. In the seventies and eighties, with the opening of boutiques in New York, Paris, Geneva, Lausanne and Tokyo, the designer Valentino consecrates and dresses the most famous women in the world such as Farah Diba, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor and the Princess Margaret Windsor. For Valentino, luxury is expressed in the high quality of the materials used to make elegant dresses and accessories and in the skill of the workers who create them. And it is in these years, in collaboration with the best optical industries of the time, that Valentino eyewear collections are developed: glasses that convey luxury, sophistication, and class, thanks to the light and delicate lines and the materials used, ranging from classic shapes, with a double metal bridge, to the most fanciful ones, enriched by hand decorations and precious applications.

Provocative and experimenter, Jean-Paul Gaultier is one of the protagonists of the last thirty years of fashion, who has conceptually revolutionized by creating a timeless style, inventing techniques and using new materials and forms. Self-taught since his childhood, Jean-Paul Gaultier was discovered by Pierre Cardin, the first to recognize the genius in what would become the enfant terrible of world fashion, who hired him as an assistant in 1970: these were the first steps which brought the young French designer to an incessant and undaunted creative evolution. The collections designed over the years by Jean-Paul Gaultier are characterized by eccentricity and extravagance, based on street wear and popular culture, formal but at the same time unusual. His unmistakable style was chosen by stars like Madonna, Marilyn Manson and Kylie Minogue and for the creation of costumes for the films "Le cinquième élément" by Luc Besson, "Kika" by Pedro Almodóvar and for "La cité des enfants perdus" by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Over time, Jean-Paul Gaultier, in addition to haute couture, began to sign accessories lines: vintage glasses designed in the 90s and produced in collaboration with the Japanese optical company Murai, are characterized by eccentricity and extravagance; made with precious materials and enriched by handwork, the vintage Jean-Paul Gaultier glasses stand out for the combinations, for unusual details and for the JPG logo well in sight. Exclusive eyewear collections in line with the enfant terrible style!

Intellectual and refined, Gianfranco Ferré, the fashion architect, has been a fundamental figure for Made in Italy in the world. Designer with clean lines and creator of architectural clothes, he left an indelible mark on fashion, so much so as to cover for eight years, from 1989 to 1997, the role of artistic director of the most prestigious fashion house in the world, Dior. Gianfranco Ferré was born in 1944 in the province of Milan, and since a very early age he took care of small sewing operations and delivery to customers of his aunt who made clothes at home. Already during the years of university studies, in Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic, the Italian designer designs bijoux and belts which he then creates, in his home garage, with unusual materials, coming from hardware stores and tools. After graduating in 1969, Gianfranco Ferré began designing jewelry and accessories for the collections of one of the most innovative stylists of the period, Walter Albini, known through the Biffi sisters, owners of some fashion boutiques, who immediately recognize in him a real talent stylistic. This first collaboration is flanked by others that have allowed the Italian designer to express his talent in the creation of garments made of different and heterogeneous materials such as lycra, jersey, leather, wool and yarn: he flies to India for San Giorgio Raincoats, designs knitwear for Maglificio di Vignola, leather garments for La Matta, and makes garments with Zegna Baruffa yarns. From the partnership between the clothing company Dei Mattioli and Gianfranco Ferré, was founded, in 1978 the company Gianfranco Ferré S.p.a. and, at the end of the same year, on the high fashion runways, shows the first woman's collection of the same name. The rigor and clean design, the classic aesthetic canons and the innovative fabrics of Ferré's creations become synonymous with high fashion and the Italian class. And the clothes could not be not accompanied by lines of accessories: at the beginning of the 80s he met Germano Gambini and together they created the sample of the first Gianfranco Ferré eyewear collection, which in 1984 was produced and distributed by the Safilo group. Gianfranco Ferré vintage glasses made in the '80s and' 90s fully represent his style and are made according to the concept of design architecture. The materials used for Gianfranco Ferré vintage frames vary from brushed metal to acetate to light alloys such as Alutanium (aluminum and titanium); the shapes, inspired by retro, alternate round geometries with more squared volumes.
“The artist in me cries out for design.”
